Taylor Swift Shines at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester
MANILA, Philippines — American pop icon Taylor Swift dominated the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs), which aired live on November 10 from Manchester, UK. Swift took home multiple awards, including Best Video for her hit “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone, as well as Best Artist, Best Live, and Best US Act.
Emerging artist Tyla also made a splash, winning her first MTV EMAs with awards for Best Afrobeats, Best R&B, and Best African Act. Notably, BINI made history as the first Filipino artist to win Best Asia Act at the EMAs.
The show opened with a breathtaking performance by Benson Boone, who played a golden grand piano while suspended in the air, enchanting the audience with his songs “Slow It Down” and “Beautiful Things.”
Tyla dazzled the crowd with her latest track “Push 2 Start,” showcasing her in shimmering body paint and accompanied by dancers and a car, before getting everyone to sing along to her hit “Water.”

RAYE, winner of Best UK & Ireland Act, captivated the audience with her stunning vocals, supported by a 30-member choir and a live band.

Busta Rhymes received the Global Icon Award from British rapper Little Simz, delivering a high-energy medley that highlighted his legendary status in hip-hop.

The show concluded with a spectacular performance by the Pet Shop Boys, who celebrated their 40th anniversary with a cover of David Bowie’s “All The Young Dudes” and their iconic hit “West End Girls,” alongside local string players, the Manchester Camerata.
