As 2025 approaches, Terrafirma is looking forward to a fresh start. Vic Manuel is hopeful that the Dyip can turn their fortunes around in the upcoming PBA Commissioner’s Cup. Currently, the team is winless at 0-7, a situation that has been disheartening for the veteran forward.
“Christmas was sad because it’s my first time being winless in a conference,” said Manuel, 37.
Despite the losses, Manuel sees a silver lining. The team often loses in the final stretch, as seen in their last game of the year against Rain or Shine, which ended 124-112. “We were there, but we just fell short,” he said. “We need to close out games better. That’s our team’s problem.”
Manuel is optimistic about Terrafirma’s future, highlighting a promising young core that includes Kemark Carino, Paolo Hernandez, Louie Sangalang, Brent Paraiso, Didat Hanapi, CJ Catapusan, Aljun Melecio, and Mark Nonoy. Additionally, experienced players like Stanley Pringle, Kevin Ferrer, Aldrech Ramos, and Manuel himself, along with the injured Terrence Romeo, complement the young talent.
Manuel believes the Dyip are coming together as a unit, describing Terrafirma as a “good team.” “Maybe not now, but in the next conferences, our team will be better. We just came together late,” he added.
