Robert Bolick Shines as NLEX Defeats Terrafirma 104-85 in PBA Commissioner’s Cup
Robert Bolick scored an impressive 32 points, leading NLEX to a 104-85 victory over Terrafirma in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium. Bolick’s crucial eight points in the last five minutes helped steady the Road Warriors after Terrafirma closed a 25-point gap to threaten at 81-88.
Despite securing their second consecutive win, NLEX coach Jong Uichico expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s performance, particularly their second-half defense, which allowed 55 points. Uichico emphasized the need for improvement ahead of their upcoming games against San Miguel Beer on December 8 and Barangay Ginebra three days later.
Mike Watkins also delivered a standout performance with 26 points, 30 rebounds, and four blocks, compensating for his struggles at the free-throw line. Uichico praised Watkins for his rebounding efforts, which were crucial for the team.
Terrafirma, now 0-3, showed resilience by narrowing the deficit to 62-75 in the third quarter. Vic Manuel led Terrafirma with 22 points, while Kevin Ferrer brought them closest with a triple at 81-88. However, Bolick’s leadership and timely scoring secured the win for NLEX.
