MERALCO active consultant Nenad Vucinic and coach Luigi Trillo were fined by the PBA Commissioner’s Office for confronting the officials who worked Game 2 of the Philippine Cup finals against San Miguel Beer.
Both Vucinic and Trillo were slapped with a P20,000 fine each after being given a memo following a separate incident that followed the Bolts’ 95-94 loss.
No summon however, was necessitated.
Despite the fine, the Bolts were hardly affected as they went on and claimed a 93-89 win in Game 3 two days later behind the clutch plays of Chris Newsome in the homestretch.
The win allowed Meralco to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.(RG)
