NorthPort’s John Amores Involved in Laguna Shooting Incident
NorthPort Batang Pier player John Amores was involved in a shooting incident in Laguna on Wednesday. He and his brother surrendered to authorities early Thursday morning.
PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial expressed sadness over the incident, stating, “This is a matter subject to police investigation, and we cannot comment on it. But we are saddened by such an unfortunate incident.”
The altercation reportedly stemmed from a heated argument between Amores and a fellow player over a call in a basketball game.
Amores is set to undergo inquest proceedings today and may face attempted murder charges.
John Amores recently signed a one-year deal with NorthPort, who drafted him 51st overall in the 2023 draft.
