Three games into the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup, NorthPort has already matched its three wins from the previous Governors’ Cup. The challenge now is to maintain this momentum and secure a spot in the playoffs.

“If we continue playing our game, focusing on transition, rebounding, and sticking to our strategy, I believe we can make the playoffs,” said NorthPort star Joshua Munzon.

NorthPort showed resilience in a tough 107-103 win against Magnolia, following victories over NLEX (114-87) and Terrafirma (113-101), tying them with Meralco at 3-0.

“Starting 3-0 is significant for us. We hope to regroup and win the upcoming game on Sunday,” Munzon added.

Next, coach Bonnie Tan’s team faces Governors’ Cup champions TNT (0-1) at the Ynares Center in Antipolo. The Tropang Giga, led by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, are eager to bounce back after an 84-105 loss to Eastern.

Assistant coach Renzy Bajar emphasized the importance of consistency and following the game plan. “Our defense and fastbreak points were key in the Magnolia game. We hope to carry this over against TNT,” Bajar said.

By focusing on these strategies, NorthPort aims to continue their strong performance and secure a top spot in the standings.
