Sam Verzosa recently described his girlfriend, Rhian Ramos, as his “lucky charm” after receiving multiple awards. Verzosa, along with Department of Health Secretary Ted Herbosa, was one of two Filipinos honored with the Gusi Peace Prize at the Metropolitan Theater. Verzosa was recognized for his philanthropic work through Frontrow Cares, the CSR arm of Frontrow International, which has significantly contributed to disaster relief, education, and healthcare for underserved communities for over a decade.
In his speech, Verzosa, who grew up in Sampaloc, Manila, expressed his gratitude for being one of the youngest recipients of the Gusi Peace Prize, joining notable figures like Lea Salonga and Nora Aunor. He emphasized the importance of promoting a culture of giving and helping.
Besides the Gusi Peace Prize, Verzosa also received the Humanitarian Excellence Award, Outstanding Achievement Award for Public Service Program Excellence for his GMA Network show “Dear SV,” and Outstanding Achievement Award for Public Service Program Host at the Asia Leaders Awards – Manila. Other honorees included Tim Yap and Cynthia Carrion.
Rhian Ramos was present to support Verzosa, capturing moments from the sidelines. Verzosa credited Ramos for his recent success, calling her his lucky charm and acknowledging her support and advice. He highlighted their mutual motivation and inspiration, emphasizing their partnership in life and shared goals for the future.
Verzosa, who is also a party-list representative, shared that Ramos has given him valuable advice on handling criticism, especially as he prepares to run for Manila mayor in the 2025 elections. The couple also discussed their future together, emphasizing continuous improvement and planning.
