MANILA, Philippines — In a surprising twist on Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition, actress Gabbi Garcia was revealed as the next host to enter the iconic PBB house during Saturday night’s episode. The Encantadia star was visibly stunned, as she initially expected the new housemate to be a talent from her home network, GMA-7.
Together with co-host Bianca Gonzales, Gabbi was asked to introduce the new housemate, who appeared on a split screen cloaked in a golden robe. As the silhouette shifted to reveal a woman’s face, co-host Robi Domingo stepped out, confirming Gabbi’s entry into the house.
“Hoy, totoo ba ito? Wala akong kakaining weekly budget. Gutom pa ako!” Gabbi exclaimed, referencing the housemates’ weekly challenge, where they must win tasks to secure their food and grocery budget. Last week, the housemates lost their video challenge, leaving them with limited food supplies.
Gabbi joins fellow houseguests Mavy Legaspi and content creator-actress Ivana Alawi, who are also taking on special tasks during their limited time in the house. This season marks PBB’s special 20th anniversary, featuring a unique format where two winners—one from GMA-7 and one from ABS-CBN—will be crowned.
In tonight’s episode, housemates will vote for the first time on who they want to leave the house, shaking up the dynamics of the show. This season’s duo format means the fate of one housemate will directly impact their partner, adding an extra layer of drama to the competition.
