MANILA, Philippines — Kapamilya actress Andrea Brillantes has opened up about her boldest role to date in the hit series *Batang Quiapo*. In an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe, Andrea shared that her character in the show marks a significant shift from her previous roles, showcasing a more mature and daring side of her acting skills.
“This role is definitely more daring compared to my past projects. It’s a level up, and it feels more mature. I never imagined I’d be doing something like this, or even considering it,” Andrea revealed.
The young actress admitted feeling nervous on her first day of filming, despite her excitement to work with a new team and director. “I was so nervous, but here I am on my first day. I’m excited because everything about this is a first for me—my first time working with this cast and crew, and my first time collaborating with Direk Malu Sevilla,” she shared.
Andrea also confessed to losing sleep the night before filming began. “I couldn’t sleep last night. I planned to rest early, but I kept thinking about what would happen the next day. When I arrived on set, though, everything felt light and easy. The artists, staff, and crew made the environment so welcoming,” she added.
A recent video shared by ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment on social media highlights Andrea’s transition into more mature roles. In the clip, she is seen wearing a red lingerie before entering a bathroom scene with co-star Jake Cuenca, further emphasizing the bold direction of her character.
